Teaching experience: Teacher at the Master of Global Change of the International University Menendez Pelayo (UIMP) since 2010 and of other specialization courses. Advisor of 3 PhDs and several Masters and University Practicums.
Research experience: Research experience acquired in several stays in Germany, The Netherlands and Barcelona. Over 40 papers in SCI journals, plus many papers in non indexed journals.
Research interests: My main interest is the study of bacterioplankton activity and diversity and the factors that control them in different environments: Antarctica, Arctic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and in the deep ocean of the global ocean. To achieve these goals, I combine field work in oceanographic cruises and coastal sampling with experiments to assess the factors limiting microbial growth and the effects of global change on microbial communities.
